Post 47 Free Sock Pattern

Finished the socks! Dropping in to share the notes version of the pattern that I created. It is much less detailed than a paid version that I will likely share one day, but gets the job done. The toes are a bit boxy. They fit me very well though!

(Pictured:  a reclaimed merino wool in robin egg blue, a mohair blend from Asia in turquoise and orange, and a recycled wool in black--held differently with the mohair throughout to create a main and contrasting color).

Salubrious Socks

Create the toe portion. My feet are a size 9 1/2 so with fingering weight yarn and a size F hook I got to town.

Row one. With CC, Chain 16. Sc in second stitch from hook and in next 14 chains. Do not turn. (15 sc)

Rnd one. Without turning the work, continue this row into a round by making two more scs in the last stitch of row one. This creates a curve around the stitch, allowing you to work into the back side of the chain. Sc one on each chain. Sc one more into last stitch and sl st into top of first sc. (32).

Rnd two: sc in each sc, and (2sc in next st, sc in next, 2sc in next, sc in next, 2sc in next) in the ovalled corners.

Rnd three: sc in each st around, join. Fasten off. Join MC.

Round 4 to 22 (work these continuous, no joins): *sc in next st, dc in next st* rep around.

Round 23: Chain 20 for heal, skip 18, and continue (sc in next, dc in next) around.

Round 24-30 (work these continuous, no joins): *sc in next st, dc in next st* rep around.

31-34: alternate dc fp, dc bp around evenly. Work each round without joining and line up your stitches (fp stitches go in fp stitches of previous row etc).

Work heel in method of choice. I usually decrease evenly and then stitch the seam with a sl st when it "feels ready." Ive seen betrer ways though, so rock it your way--truly. ✌️
